Structural function analysis & product development

Project experience in scaffold and falsework engineering: static design, FEM-supported verification, approval procedures, component tests and optimisation of existing systems.

New development LPS

The LPS (Light Protection Screen) is a modular climbing protection screen system for high-rise buildings. As part of the new development, type calculations of the overall system, static verifications of individual components, FE analyses for component optimisation and component tests in the laboratory were carried out.

The verifications were performed, among others, according to DIN EN 12812, DIN EN 12811-1 to -3, DIN EN 1993-1-1, DIN EN 1993-1-5, DIN EN 1993-1-8 and DIN EN 1995-1-1. For the grid elements, wind-tunnel investigations were coordinated and project-specific wind-pressure coefficients were determined.

PERI UP Flex - advanced guardrail

FEM-based approval calculation for a new guardrail post and knee rail for the advanced guardrail system (Z-8.22-863). The static verification in the installed condition was performed for the requirements according to DIN EN 12811-1:2004-03; design was carried out according to Eurocode 3 with FEM-supported evaluation according to EN 1993-1-14.

To validate the verification concept, drop tests according to GS-PS-15 were performed. All requirements according to GS-PS-15 were met; the tests were successfully completed and the verifications were implemented in the approval.

Core components for LPS and SCS climbing systems

For the LPS and SCS climbing systems, the LPS climbing shoe as a connection element between climbing rail and structure and the SCS angle adapter for adapting climbing units to inclined concrete surfaces were investigated numerically and experimentally.

The scope included FE analyses for stress and deformation calculations under governing ultimate and serviceability states, as well as laboratory tests for experimental validation of the calculation models. The iterative alignment of simulation and testing secured the required load-bearing capacity, serviceability and reliable component function in system operation.
